How the Local Food Share Works

With a purchase of a GoFarm Local Food Share, you make a commitment to your local farmers by paying upfront for a season of food. We aggregate the food from local farmers, ensure they are paid a fair market price that reflects the actual value of the food, and see you every week when you pickup your food share!

Sign up online for a full season of local food. Choose the share types, pickup site, and pickup frequency that work best for you.
Pay online for your order. You can pay upfront for the full season, or pay in installments using either a credit card or e-check. We offer 50% off if you are paying with SNAP/EBT or qualify for a discount share. If you sign up after the season has started, the cost will be pro-rated.

After payment, you are all set! Once the season starts, local farmers will drop off their sustainably-grown food to us each week, and you'll pick up your food at your pickup site! We'll send email reminders, along with recipes, storage tips, and info about your farmers.
If you miss picking up your food, it won’t go to waste! We donate leftover food to our Community Food Access program where we make food more affordable and accessible through food donations and low-cost markets at Head Start preschools, senior living facilities, and more!

Local Food Share Pickup Sites
At each of our sites is a refrigerated GoFarm shipping container where farmers drop off fresh food each week and where we distribute food to our shareholders. You'll pick one of these sites when you sign up for a Local Food Share, and that will be your pickup spot for the season!
We strive to host inclusive, accessible events for all, including individuals with disabilities. Our distribution model is set up as a market style pick up. For inquiries about accessibility and/or to talk through any assistance you may need, please contact us at localfoodshare@gofarm.org. We are always happy to work together and accommodate your needs as best we can.
