Having Fun Volunteering

Volunteer With Us

Help Make a Difference!

Upcoming season details.png

We couldn't do all of our wonderful work without the help of our volunteers! Volunteering with GoFarm is fun, easy, and social. You'll get to know others in your community, learn about the inner-workings of GoFarm, and make a difference in your community.

As a volunteer you'll get a unique and rewarding experience within the local food system and help provide food for people in your community.

Our volunteer season runs from May - October and all volunteer positions are filled for the remainder of 2022.

We are now seeking volunteers for the 2023 season! If you are interested in volunteering with GoFarm in 2023, please fill out this form.

Local Food Distribution

Work alongside GoFarm staff and interns at Local Food Share pickup, welcome shareholders, chat about local food, and re-stock produce displays.

Local Food Distribution Setup

Set up for Local Food Share pickup; set up tents, tables, produce displays, and educational signage.

Mobile Market

Help set-up and run GoFarm's Mobile Market, #ChuckTheGoFarmTruck, assist customers as they shop, and chat about local food.

Food Safety Support

Help us prepare and clean our bins, coolers, and shipping containers for the week's distributions and markets according to GoFarm's Food Safety Plan.

Food Demos

Showcase the fun and delicious ways to enjoy local food! Prepare a dish to sample at Local Food Share distributions or Mobile Markets.

Harvest Dinner

Take part in our annual fundraising event by helping us with event setup, serving food and beverages, assisting chefs, event clean up, and more.

Important Notes For Volunteers

Time Commitment

We primarily need volunteers for our summer distribution season from June to October. It is preferred if volunteers can commit to weekly or biweekly (every other week) volunteer shifts. For the Food Safety Support and Harvest Dinner opportunities, you do not need to make a season-long commitment.

Orientation and Training

We require volunteers to attend one volunteer orientation session prior to your first shift. Orientations will take place in Downtown Golden and will cover everything you need to know about GoFarm, food safety, and your volunteer tasks!

Working Conditions

  • May be asked to lift crates up to 50 lbs and may need to stand for up to 3.5 hours at a time

  • Be prepared to work in ever-changing Colorado weather conditions: heat, sunshine, snow, wind, rain, etc.

  • Please bring a positive attitude and engage with staff, interns, and shareholders. We like to have fun!
